Beryl Cook was a British artist known for her humorous and quirky paintings depicting everyday life and scenes of people enjoying themselves. Cook's work is characterised by bold colours, exaggerated figures, and a sense of joy and celebration, making her a beloved figure in the art world & one of Britain's best known artists. Beryl only started painting when she was 40 years old and went on to create over 600 artworks throughout her career receiving an OBE in 1995. Celebrity collectors include Yoko Ono, Jackie Collins & Dawn French. Cook passed away in 2008 but her legacy of vibrant and playful artworks continues to resonate with audiences worldwide thanks to her granddaughter Sophie, who now runs the Cook estate & official website. More recently Sophie has helped put together major exhibitions in both New York and LA as well.
